During my study abroad in Paris, I was so inspired by the beautiful stairwell of couture dresses at La Galerié Dior that I folded a paper map of Paris into a dress - a keepsake intended for my future daughter’s room. Eight years later, that vision came full circle. With the birth of my daughter, Papier Couture was born.
Papier Couture operates at the intersection of high fashion, paper engineering, and artistic nostalgia. The philosophy is simple yet profound: something as ordinary as a paper map can be transformed into a handcrafted artwork that evokes memory and past experiences. Inspired not only by luxury fashion but by life experience.
Each piece utilizes authentic vintage maps and rare archival papers. By manipulating the literal geography of cherished locations - from historic world cities to beloved theme parks - every fold becomes a time capsule.
Today, Papier Couture creates everything from intricately framed designs to life-size, wearable paper exhibition gowns. Every finished work is entirely handcrafted, designed to capture your unique life experiences in a one-of-a-kind gallery masterpiece.
